Wytham Woods
Wytham Woods is a large area of woodland which belongs to the University of Oxford – where researchers can carry out observations into woodland habitats. Visitors can take advantage of the meandering paths which wind through the woodlands and grasslands. Visitors intending to walk in the woods must apply in advance for a permit, but a number of events allow visitors to drop in for the day or evening – including badger-watching, bat-spotting, and creative writing workshops. Free car parking and secure bike racks are available, and buses run from the centre of Oxford. Dogs are not permitted.
