Overview

Spring Hill Cottage is a delightful retreat near the village of Begbroke, close to the pretty town of Woodstock and only 15 minutes by car from Oxford city centre and just a ten minute drive from Oxford Parkway.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker and all the cooking utensils and equipment that you would need for a home away from home. It is a light room with a double aspect, allowing views to both north and south sides of the garden. On a warm, sunny day the main kitchen stable door can be opened onto the east of the house and views of the surrounding woods.

Leading from the kitchen there is a spacious and light living room, again with double aspect and with French doors overlooking the large patio of the main house, which lies beyond. The living room is comfortably furnished with a leather sofa and armchairs, and a desk. Stairs lead from the living room to a large landing with a bedroom at each end.

Bedroom one is furnished with a comfortable king sized bed and has an en suite shower room. It has a good sized window with far views over the Evenlode valley and the distant spires of Church Hanborough and Cassington. Bedroom two is furnished with twin beds and has an en suite bathroom with a bath and handheld shower. This pretty room overlooks the garden and ancient Begbroke woods. Both bedrooms and en suite bathrooms also have Velux windows.

The cottage benefits from a large spacious garden with seating - perfect for relaxing with the family after a busy day. The cottage enjoys all the benefits of the countryside but is within easy reach of the city, making it the ideal location for work, pleasure or a combination of both.

This property is comfortable and homely. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay over the Bank Holiday. Nikki and her husband were very welcoming. The house was comfortable and perfect for our family (toddler and small dog), with a huge shared garden for us to explore and wonderful country walks right on our doorstep. The cottage was very well equipped with a lovely welcome pack. We also enjoyed visiting Blenheim Palace and The Killingworth Castle for a delicious Sunday lunch, both just a short drive away.

Love staying here, cottage has everything you need for a great visit. Very well provisioned kitchen, and a bottle of wine and some chocolatey nibbles to welcome you. Beautiful views and apart from a few pheasants, and the odd plane flying over from Oxford Airport, very peaceful. With red kites and buzzards soaring overhead it’s hard to believe Oxford is only 5 miles away. It’s an ideal location and a lovely place to stay.

Lovely property – perfect for our short stay together with our dog. The shared garden and the surrounding open fields and farmland were a great respite from our busy week. You need a car or expect longish walks to shops. Perfectly appointed with everything you need. Friendly and welcoming host who lives in the main property next door. Would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at this property. Beautiful and quiet location (subject to the occasional small plane from the local airfield which my daughter loved) but great connectivity into Oxford (near local park and ride) and to the area more generally. Property has beautiful gardens that are great for small children, and Nikki the owner dropped round a small push bike for our daughter to play with which she loved. Great, helpful hosts and very friendly. Very well equipped kitchen, better than the listing details. Property is nicer than the photos. Overall a great stay in a good, convenient location.

We loved everything about our time here. Couldn’t recommend the location, warm feel of the cottage or the hospitality of the hosts enough. Probably our best AirBnB experience to date and we’ve done loads around the world.

Lovely, warm and very well equipped cottage, the best rental we have ever had anywhere around the world.
Excellent shower, comfortable beds, top notch towels and ben linen, very well equipped kitchen.
Nikki and Giles were great hosts, bringing us fresh eggs on our first day, and always on call but never intrusive..and Lupa their Jack Russell puppy was a delightful bonus.
Beautiful gardens, a bluebell wood, deer and wonderful views over Oxfordshire countryside.

We had a fantastic stay in the beautiful cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was in an r to quiet and peaceful area. The owner lives next door and she was extremely helpful. She left us fresh eggs from her chickens for our arrival and some tray bakes too. We would definitely stay again.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Spring Hill Cottage. The property was extremely well maintained, clean and very well equipped, more so than I was expecting. The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside whilst being easily accessible to Oxford and Woodstock. The hosts of the cottage were friendly and welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to go back later this year.

Spring Hill Cottage is an absolute hidden gem. Beautiful location, very homely cottage, everything you could need in the kitchen and hosts that are so welcoming but don’t feel at all on top of you.

You really couldn’t want for more! We hope to be back.

This home, really is a home away from home. We shifted our original plans to stay a little longer and it was perfect. Even though the weather in winter is wet and grey, when the clouds open up and you see the stars so bright, it makes everything worth it. Laying in bed looking through the window in the roof was amazing. The cozy feel of each room really allowed us the space to take a breath in what has been a crazy couple of years. Gorgeous views of the garden and the fields. Watching fireworks all across the countryside from the upstairs window was also an amazing way to bring in the New Year! Highly recommend the stay!

Lovely cottage and very good comms from hosts. Bedrooms are much larger than they appear in photos. Underfloor heating in kitchen is a warm comfort. Really well stocked kitchen with utensils/posts pans etc.

Perfect place to hide from the pandemic!

Nikki and Giles were so welcoming and the cottage was just perfect with a huge garden that my 11 year old son just couldn’t get enough of. It is in a gorgeous rural setting and yet so well placed to be within easy access of Oxford, Blenheim, Burford etc. Nikki made sure we had everything we needed and the kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we’ve ever come across in an Airbnb property. There were so many thoughtful touches and all we had to do was provide our own food as Nikki had quite literally provided everything else from loo paper to tea bags. I can’t recommend this cottage enough and we will definitely be staying again.

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful house, with an incredible, spacious garden. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and the house comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed the views from the house and garden- and watching the birds and hares. The house is in a fantastic location- rural but close to several places for family day trips.
