Overview

The Dovecote is a particularly special compact and cosy studio style home situated in the heart of the Cotswolds town of Woodstock. The building was originally a stone-built 'Dovecote' from the 1700's which would have demonstrated the wealth and magnificence of the landowner. Beautifully converted into a studio apartment, the Dovecote retains original features.

Upon entering the home through a private, tucked away courtyard you are greeted with a compact kitchen with everything you would need for a short or long stay in Woodstock with electric hob, a fridge with ice compartment, microwave and a selection of crockery. The breakfast bar can double up as a work desk. On the ground floor you will also find a bathroom with a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC. The Dovecote also benefits from a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The winding, spiral staircase takes you up to the first floor where you will find the bedroom area furnished with a cosy double bed, wardrobe space, a flat screen TV and a window with a wonderful view.

The home benefits from a private courtyard garden with outdoor seating, the perfect place to relax, after a busy day exploring. The home also has off-street parking for up to two cars.

Please note: This home is cosy and compact. If you suffer from Claustrophobia this cottage may not be for you!

Such a perfect spot for a solo traveler wanting a restful break in the English countryside. Very close to the Woodstock gate to the Blenheim Palace grounds, which is just stunning. Easy walk into town for restaurants. Very close to a bus stop that allows easy access to a lot of the Cotswolds as well as Oxford. I had a problem with the wall unit heater while there, but plug in heaters were provided so it was no trouble. The rental team was very responsive when I brought up the heater not working. I also received very detailed check in instructions including a video. So helpful! I wish everyone did this!!

A fantastic little place to stay! Not for everyone, as it is quite tiny, but for my wife and I, we loved it. Very characterful and well considered design. Excellent location, with easy walks into Blenheim Palace grounds and Woodstock. Would certainly stay again!

Perfect space for a single traveller. Able to walk into town for dinner and slightly longer walk to Blenheim Palace. Very cosy!

We loved our stay in the Dovecote, it was small but perfectly equipped with all we needed. The location was a little tricky to find in the dark, but brilliantly placed to surrounding village and palace gardens!
