Jericho is one of Oxford’s most characterful and sought-after neighbourhoods, making it a fantastic base for a short-term stay. Tucked just north of the city centre, this vibrant quarter blends historic charm with a relaxed, bohemian feel, offering guests an authentic taste of Oxford life.

The streets of Jericho are lined with classic Victorian terraces, independent boutiques and some of the city’s best-loved cafés, pubs and restaurants. The home is in a quiet residential area offering the closeness to Oxford city centre.

The ground floor has an open floor living-dining-kitchen area with patio doors leading out to the rear garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay in Oxford, including a utility cupboard with washing machine. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor.

The remaining three bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the upper floors of the home. The home benefits from a rear garden with seating.

About The Jericho Retreat:

Open plan living-dining-kitchen area.
Kitchen fully equipped and fitted with everything you would need for a short or long stay including all modern appliances.
Dining area with seating for up to six guests.
Living room area: bookcase, comfortable corner sofa, flat screen TV and patio doors leading out to the garden.
One double bedroom with double bed with some clothing storage and decorative fireplace.

Stairs lead up to the first floor:

Double bedroom with double bed with reading lights, chest of drawers and cupboard for clothing storage.
Double room with bunk beds ( 2 x single beds).
Bathroom fitted with a bath with overhead shower, wash basin and WC.

Stairs lead up to the second floor:

Double bedroom with double bed, dedicated work desk and an en-suite wet room with shower, wash basin and WC.

Outside area:

Rear garden with seating.

No parking available although there are a small number of 2 hour roadside spaces within 500 metres of the home.

The Jericho Retreat is a spacious and well decorated property in an ideal location in Jericho, steps from the canal path into Oxford or Port Meadow. There are plenty of cafés, pubs, and restaurants within a block or so. We visited during a heat wave. There were 2 big fans that helped, but we would have liked 1 fan per bedroom in case of heat like this. The kitchen is well setup overall with just a few things we would have liked to see (spatula, a few dishwasher tablets, a few laundry pods).

This home is in a wonderful Jericho location incredibly close to great pubs and the city center. There is also a footbridge just around the corner from the house for easy access to the rail station.

The home was able to accommodate
our group of 4 adults and 4 kids. We loved opening up the living room to the private garden.

In the middle of a blistering hot summer, it’s important to know that this house does not have air conditioning. That said, very very few homes in this area do have ac. There were plenty of fans throughout to help, but it was still hot, of course.

The kitchen was great. A full size fridge, dishwasher, and clothes washer made the stay convenient.

Overall would recommend and would stay again when returning to Oxford.
