The Grand Cafe in Oxford
Mentioned in the diary of Samuel Pepys, The Grand Café claims to be the oldest English coffee house, opened in the seventeenth century. The building is a stunning example of art-deco interiors, with delicious seasonal and local produce on offer. The menu spans breakfasts, lunches, and traditional high tea is served all day – featuring the classic combination of scones, clotted cream, and jam. A wide range of hot and cold drinks, desserts, and pastries is also available – with a rotating, hand-made selection available in the patisserie.
