Friday Cottage

The property was just as described on Airbnb and we had a great stay. I can recommend the local bakery for the best corn bread we’ve had!

I wasn’t that happy that once I’d booked I was taken away from the Airbnb site to a new site where I had to hand over personal details again and thus was being dealt with by a third party where the whole process then felt very AI rather than personal.

The stay was perfect. We were given clear instructions on how to access the property and having space for two cars was a bonus – especially since the bus to Oxford city centre stopped just round the corner from the house. The inside of the house was exactly like the photos- but it felt much bigger inside. We were all fighting over the room with its own dressing room! All in all a brilliant relaxing stay in a lovely little village. Just what we needed.

Clean and cosy house with modern amenities and well equipped. We stayed over Christmas and were pleasantly surprised that the host had left a lovely Xmas tree in the house. Getting into Oxford city centre by bus is easy and convenient with the bus stop being just round the corner. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was exceptionally clean, tidy, and beautifully decorated. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of — nothing was missing, and it truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was perfect and very well put together. The only small downside was the check-in/check-out times. An earlier check-in (around 3 PM) and an 11 AM check-out would have made the experience absolutely flawless and worthy of full stars. Overall, a fantastic stay — highly recommended!

We stayed as a family of 4 for a few days for my daughter’s birthday. The space is laid out well and very comfortable. Recommend the cafe on the road for breakfast, it was delicious! Not far to get to Oxford either- bus or park and ride it. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect location, beautifully presented and clean with bonus of a car space. Walking distance to local shop, lovely cafe and a couple of pubs. We really enjoyed our stay here and bear bus stop for trips to Oxford city centre.

Fantastic accommodation that was a stone’s throw from Oxford. Spacious, modern, comfortable and clean, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in Friday cottage. Check in was simple with easy instructions to follow. The property was well furnished and well maintained.

Very nice house and amenities. Located on the high street, the main street of the small old district. There are a few essential shops on this street, a pub, a small supermarket 5 minutes’ walk and a larger supermarket 20 minutes’ walk or 5 minutes’ drive. For more shops and restaurants you have to leave Wheatley but there are places nearby (15 mins by car). Very close to Oxford and ideally located for visiting the Cotswolds, and several other sites 40-60 minutes from Wheatley.

First place I’ve stayed in that looks bigger than the photos. Really lovely space, clean and well equipped.

We enjoyed the accommodations as it met our needs and requirements fully. Good local transport and easy access to main roads, but the setting was peaceful which is what we wanted.

Great place, a few minutes’ drive from Oxford. The house is very nice, equipped with all the comforts and everything you could ask for both in terms of furniture and electrical equipment. Excellent bathrooms. A very comfortable dedicated parking space. A very pleasant and quiet setting, where it is pleasant to take a walk among flowered balconies and friendly and courteous people. The agency that markets it has proven to be very attentive and present. Really a nice experience.

A beautiful property and great hosts, couldn’t fault our stay, well worth every penny.

Lovely property. Had everything we needed. Could do with shower caps as it’s a rainfall shower. Don’t want to get hair wet everyday. Plenty of towels. Comfortable beds. The address is deceptive. It’s on the corner of High Street. Spent a long time trying to find the entrance. Maybe get a house name and number on driveway entrance.

I had a pleasant stay at Friday Cottage. Nicely furnished with good kitchen and bathrooms, peaceful village and an easy commute of South Oxford. Responsive hosts, would be happy to stay again on a future visit.

Second stay and as good as the first, faultless…

Such a lovely house – we wished we could stay longer. Perfectly clean and everything we needed in the house. Beds really comfortable. We wanted to be tourists in Oxford and the house is very close to the bus stop so everything was easy.

Everything has been fab & the property just perfect! It had everything we needed. Our only piece of feedback is that the house is not good for people with mobility issues. The steps up to the house really difficult as no handrail & there were stairs between the double bedroom & bathroom without a bannister. But it’s perfect in every other way!!

The home was warm, clean & comfortable. However, the location directions unclear. Add detail like ‘drive entrance on High Street, (not Friday Lane), opposite United Reform Church’, could helpfully be added. The oven on cooker didn’t work on arrival. Owner came the next day & fixed it. (Thank you).
