Salter’s Steamers
Salter’s Steamers are a family-run boat hire business, which also offers river cruises along the Thames. Short trips are available between Folly Bridge and Iffley Lock, a longer ‘Alice in Wonderland’ cruise also includes the picturesque expanse of Port Meadow, and a ‘picnic cruise’ is available, which provides a delicious picnic lunch. Boat hire is available from a pontoon located next to the Head of the River pub, and visitors can book either punts, rowing boats, or diesel boats – depending on the desired level of exertion. All boats offer a unique perspective on the Oxford landscape, viewed from the river.
