This biennial event brings together scholars and enthusiasts to explore various facets of nineteenth-century London’s theatrical scene, encompassing plays, operas, pantomime, puppetry, and more.
The conference encourages a broad interpretation of the ‘London stage,’ welcoming discussions on criticism, dance, scenography, genre, theatrical technology, colonial politics, and the staging of the natural environment. The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Kate Newey from the University of Exeter.
