We stayed at the Hayloft for 6 nights and had a great time friendly locals 2 local pubs within walking distance both doing food.
There are lots things in the area to visit and enjoy, was also nice to meet Bill, owner of the Hayloft.

The Hayloft was beautiful. Well presented, comfortable and very well equipped.
We would recommend to any couple.

The accommodation was really very pleasant and well insulated against the intense heat. It is perfect for a couple without children. It’s functional, you can cook in it easily, and you sleep very well. The parking space is convenient, but you have to manoeuvre a bit to get out of the property. The village is very peaceful. You can run around safely or, of course, take a walk. The rental is handled by an agency, so communication is impersonal for the check-in formalities. But we were lucky enough to meet the owner, Bill, when we arrived, who allowed us to go into his beautiful garden in his absence, and we met his gardener when we left. Both were really very friendly. This helped make our stay a wonderful experience, as did the small country bouquet on our arrival and the charming decor. The view of the garden is really nice. We therefore recommend this property.

The Hayloft was a brilliant base from which to explore the Cotswolds. It was a very comfortable, character property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming barn in a picturesque village. The property is a perfect blend of traditional and modern, maintaining all the rustic charm while being spotless and well-kept. Everything was incredibly clean and comfortable, making it the ideal retreat after a day of exploring the Cotwolds. The hosts were friendly and most welcoming. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel right at home. Since we arrived late evening 8pm”ish we couldn’t find a restaurant for supper. They kindly went out of their way and made a reservation for us at a pub in the next village – the food was delicious. The village itself is so quaint, with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning setting, this place is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!

The hayloft is a wonderful place, just what we needed for a few nights away. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford, and with good parking. The local pub is also very nice with good selection of drinks and nice menu. Everything was as advertised on listing so I would recommend this property to anyone. The only reason for 4 stars is the bed was quite hard and gave me a bad back and every time you move it was very creaky.

We had a lovely weekend at the Hayloft. We could not fault the accommodation and the owner was very friendly too! We would definitely like to stay here again in future.

My partner and I absolutely loved our trip! The town itself is so charming and the cottage very cosy. It was very clean and we found the kitchen to be extremely well equipped! Worth noting that Taxi’s can be volatile so best commit to Driving for dinner out etc, but that’s no problem and we found the Local ‘sun inn’ to be very cozy and affordable for drinks and food looked lovely too. Overall 10 out of 10 experience and would go back

We stayed here straight off the back of our wedding and it was just what we wanted, cosy, private and a great location. It was a great stay and close to such lovely spots in the cotswolds. The owners have done such a lovely job with the accommodation too. We loved it so much we have already spoken about booking here again for another visit.

Bill and Viv were absolutely excellent hosts during our stay over Christmas! We had a slight problem with the guests before us leaving a lot of small hairs everywhere and had to borrow the hoover to give it another clean. Bill was very attentive to helping sort the problem though! The location is amazing, perfect for countryside walks and amazing pubs. Overall we loved our time here and would come back in a flash! Wonderful cottage and the views were incredible from the sofa. Thank you Bill & Viv for our Christmas escape in the country!

We had a wonderful stay in Hook Norton, and Bill and Viv were really lovely hosts – even leaving a couple bags in a safe place which we’d accidentally left out in the rain! Everything was perfect and the proximity to a very well-stocked village shop was great too.

We had a lovely stay at the Hayloft. The cottage was very clean, cosy and we felt at home straight away. There is a lovely view of a very picturesque garden and the kitchen was well equipped so we were able to comfortably cook. The hosts went above and beyond by leaving out cooking apples for us to take from their garden, providing thorough and clear instructions to access the property and a folder with local pubs, amenities and trip suggestions. We would definitely stay again and we would recommend this cottage to friends and family.

We had a wonderful stay! The place is very cosy, beautifully decorated, and absolutely clean. The hosts are super friendly and even provided a folder with great local tips and some lovely little treats. The area isn’t touristy at all – very authentic, which we really appreciated. Perfect for two friends or a couple. The interior feels like something straight out of a British rom-com – warm and charming. Everything you need is there. A truly cool place that we can highly recommend!

The Hayloft really is a hidden gem in the Cotswolds. Very clean and tastefully decorated. The bed is really comfy and the area of hook Norton is so peaceful and quiet. Two pubs serving food with walking distance as well as the hook Norton brewery. Shop opposite for anything you need to self cater. Take a trip to Chipping Norton where we stumbled on Roger’s,a fishmonger and deli. All in all we had a lovely relaxing time. Thank you Bill and Viv for letting us stay. 10/10

The location is lovely, we would strongly recommend a short walk to The Sun and making the most of The Hook Norton Brewery tour which all within walking distance. Nice walks in the area too. Check in was seamless and easy, with access through a stable door adjoined to the property. The property was as described and had all amenities available. The reason for a slightly lower review was due to the property being cold upon our arrival with no heating on. This was quickly rectified with a single phone call to the owners however. Overall it was as advertised and perfect for what we needed, and had a lovely stay with no major issues.

Good location lovely areas to visit plenty to enjoy. Eating establishments and places to shop and visit. Location. Quiet peaceful. Parking although sufficient space access in fine getting out need to be mindful of gate plus getting onto road can be busy.

We booked this beautiful cottage for our anniversary, and it was every bit wonderful. Beautiful view of the private garden from the living room. Perfect start to the morning with a coffee. The bed was super comfy and provided the best sleep. The kitchen was well equipped to get you started, and the TV was modern with links to your favourite streaming apps. Overall, a perfect place for a couple looking for a quiet getaway with easy access to surrounding villages and a 15-minute drive to Soho Farmhouse.

The hosts were very responsive to messages, friendly and helpful. The loft itself was immaculate, beautiful views over their private garden, lovely and spacious. Easy walk to the local village. And parking. Would highly recommend and would return.

A great stay at the Hayloft. Beautiful, quiet and in the wonderful village of Hook Norton. The views across the garden were amazing. The place was perfect for a weekend escape from London. Thoroughly recommend the brewery tour, and a meal in The Sun Inn! Ideal for Soho Farmhouse as well. Will be back!

Thanks for a peaceful and beautiful stay. The combination of the birds and blossom in the garden with the sound of the church bells is charming! The village shop and local pub have everything you need for a short stay, and there’s so much to do in the area.

Lovely quiet location in a charismatic building with rustic charm inside. Easy to check in to Hayloft, but watch your step when going up the wooden staircase to your front door as it twists round – by the end of our stay, we had no worries using the stairs. Although we were out most days, we did stay in on a few afternoons and opened the Juliet balcony doors to watch the birds or an enjoy a nice hot soak in the deep bath. Good location to drive to nearby historic places for day trips out. We tried the local butchers which was a great hit with my boyfriend on their tasty sausages and I liked their homemade quiche. We also tried one of the local pubs – lovely food and friendly staff but fair warning the portion sizes are big so you will be very full after a meal there.

We really enjoyed our Stay at the Hayloft. A beautiful, cosy property, at the heart of Hook Norton / Cotswolds. The location of the property was excellent, with local amenities on your doorstep (local shop / pub serving excellent food). It also provided us with a great base to explore the surrounding area, both through some lovely walks (thanks to some helpful guides provided by Bill and Viv) and through visiting surrounding towns. The property was really well maintained and had everything you need for a short break. We’d highly recommend booking and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We really enjoyed being in a beautiful picturesque village, the daily church bells added atmosphere and the closeness to a well stocked village shop and bigger M&S in Chipping Norton made it easy to cook meals ! A lovely stay with helpful hosts and a very peaceful property!

The location was absolutely perfect for us (a young couple in our 20’s), there are two great pubs within walking distance, (the sun inn does great food) and a village shop just over the road, we ran some nice flat 5k routes around the village, the scenery is beautiful! Everyone was so friendly and helpful with recommendations etc. would highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat to get away from everything! We loved it!

Stayed for several days here as a getaway The Hayloft is a great place shown as seen, nice and central for activities in the village and not far away from some interesting villages nearby service was very good and would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking to relax and destress.

My friend & I had a great stay at the Hayloft in Hook Norton. The village was lovely with pubs and a village shop only a short walk away, and the Hayloft itself was cosy, quiet and the perfect country getaway. We would absolutely recommend!

Lovely place to stay. Great view from the sitting room. Steep staircase to the Hayloft, and agility needed to get in/out of the bath/shower. Close to village shop, and Hook Norton brewery café is a great place for breakfast or lunch.

Cosy and characterful property! Lovely location in a quiet village, and a very characterful property. It is a good size too, with plenty of room to move around. The lounge area is comfortable with a view of the lovely garden. Being able to park directly outside the front door is a big bonus. It is just a short walk to the local store and the nearest pub. There was nothing we didn’t like, but it is worth pointing out that the stairs up to the property may be tricky for anyone with mobility issues. We had no issue with the bath/shower, but a hand rail/grab handle would be helpful for getting out of the bath, as it is quite deep and high sided.

What a stunning little property with a breathtaking view out of the Juliet balcony… a peaceful setting, in a lovely peaceful village. If you want time out to just chill this is the place. Just missing a dishcloth or washing up sponge but easily rectified as little shop just across the street. A perfect stay. Thankyou.

We had the most amazing time staying at the Hayloft in the stunning Wisteria House. Bill and Viv were wonderful friendly hosts and we loved the atmosphere and tranquillity of the Hayloft. I was celebrating a birthday and on arrival, I was greeted by the most beautiful hand picked flowers from the stunning garden and greeting card; such a thoughtful touch. The Hayloft is situated in the picturesque village of Hook Norton or Hooky as it is known by locals. We had a wonderful circular walk around the surrounding countryside which was breathtaking, if a little on the hot side. Thankfully we started out early and had purposefully booked the Hook Norton brewery tour in the afternoon. The tour was great and ably led by Keith, who made it even more enjoyable with his passion for the brewery and his wonderful sense of humour. We ate at the Brewery’s cafe, good food and great ale of course! We would also recommend the Sun Inn for delicious food and excellent customer service. A great trip!

A lovely space with incredible history in a charming village. Host are good communicators and lovely people. The entry stairs are quite difficult to navigate, and getting bags upstairs for older folk would be hard, as would getting into the very high bath / shower. Completely to be expected in such a historic home, but worth being a bit clearer on booking site. Worth every penny!!

The Hayloft was the perfect space for our short break. Right in the middle of the village with lots of beautiful walks in and surrounding the area and a couple of really lovely pubs in walking distance. We also loved getting to meet the owner’s puppy, Eric who was keen to welcome us!

Lovely weekend getaway! Hook Norton is a great location to explore the cotswolds and the Hayloft is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, very well looked after and homey. We would love to come back sometime and would definitely recommend this place to any friends or family!

Short Let Space’s kept us informed and provided great information about the property, the staff are very friendly and informative. The description and photographs of the property were very accurate. I would not have a problem using them again as I would feel confident that what was being offered was what I would get.

The cottage is immersed in the Cotswolds, for a few days it will seem like you are living in a space frozen in time and at the end of the days spent at the Cottage you feel very relaxed. The cottage is convenient for exploring the main Cotswold villages, all around 30 minutes’ drive away, and for departing from Heathrow. It’s really clean, on a trip where we stayed at three other properties this one was really clean. Unfortunately in the UK we always have unsatisfactory experiences with cleaning, but they have proven them wrong. The staircase to go up is very narrow, if possible go with small bags or backpacks

Fab location, lovely little space for a few days break. Stairs could be difficult to manage if you have limited mobility, and the bed is very creaky. Other than that, no complaints! The perfect location to explore the Cotswolds and have a few chilled out days. Hook Norton is a lovely village with a great shop and a couple of pubs. Easy to find if you follow the instructions and “the village shop” is so well stocked that you don’t need to call into a supermarket enroute to buy shopping ! The floors were a little bit uneven (hey! You’re staying in a hayloft and that’s the point of staying in a Cotswold barn!) beautiful little claw bath, perfectly thrusting hot water through a good shower, and delightful quality bedding.. white company towels ???? Beautiful village, great for walks and pubs. Saturday we explored further afield: Chipping Norton, Diddly Squat, Daylesford Farm Shop, Stow on the Wold, Bourton.. A bonus was our Sunday morning walk and discovering the village brewery open! 2 hours exploring the social history that they are obviously so proud of. Really enjoyed our visit. Thank you so much

Thank you for offering the Hayloft. It is a perfect bolt hole in one of most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds. It was an equally quaint and comfortable space. I stayed there by myself for business and it had everything I needed to do my work. Hosts Bill and Viv could not have been more pleasant and I enjoyed the time I spent with them.

Such a wonderful experience. The Hayloft is a great bolthole for one or two people. A good space that is well laid out. Great modern Smart TV, excellent Wi-Fi access (stable and fast) which makes for a god space to work in too. The bonus though is the excellent kitchen space that lacks nothing, it’s like a ‘home from home’. The view across the garden and to the distant village view is magnificent.
Bill and Viv make excellent hosts who are accessible, extremally helpful but not intrusive in any way.
I will stay again and recommend to all seeking a true Cotswold escape.

The hay loft was ideal for a little New Year’s Eve weekend break. Cosy and very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. We ate in three nights out of four. We also enjoyed dinner at The Sun Inn (just a few minutes walk away). The village shop is just a minute’s walk away and is very well stocked, as is the Hook Norton butcher. We didn’t need a car (got a taxi to and from Charlbury station). We made use of the book of Hook Norton walks in the apartment and the OS maps. The brewery is worth a visit too. The stairs up to the loft are quite steep so avoid large suitcases! Would definitely return – really pretty, peaceful village – perfect if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle.

A delightful, characterful and extremely comfortable, well equipped appartment . The view over the garden and the surrounding area is tranquil and beautiful .The access steps could be slightly off- putting to anyone with balance issues .

We had a wonderful week long holiday. The Hayloft had everything that we needed and the village of Hook Norton was beautiful. This was a great base for exploring the Cotswolds villages and so many other lovely places that were nearby. I would definitely recommend staying here and we would definitely stay again!

This was a delightful, well designed barn conversion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment had everything we needed and was perfect for the two of us. It was very clean and exactly like the pictures. We met the hosts who happened to be there when we arrived (they live in the main house). They were very pleasant and have a management company running the bookings as they are often away from the property. Hook Norton is a lovely quiet little village and the local Spar shop is a few metres walk from the house where you can find all your essentials. All in all a great stay and I can’t recommend it enough.

We have just returned from a six night break at the Hayloft. We found it to be a perfect little hideaway in a beautiful village. The Hayloft had everything we needed and was so cosy.
The kitchen is well equipped, which enabled us to cooked most nights as we wanted to enjoy the loft.
There are two pubs/ eating places in the village. We ate at the Sun Inn and can recommend this place. There is a well stocked shop in the village also.
We were made to feel very welcome by Bill and Viv.
If you want a peaceful, restful break, this is the place for you.
We will definitely return again and will recommend friends visit this area of outstanding beauty.

Location is perfect, SPAR shop has everything you need and only a 2 min walk from the property.
