Oxford Foodies Festival
The popular Oxford Foodies Festival is back this summer from 29th-31st August. Located in South Park, conveniently placed between Oxford City Centre and Cowley making it the ideal place to explore before and after the festival. Enjoy performances from Boyzlife, B*Witched and Gareth Gates. Open from 11am-9pm Saturday-Sunday and 11am-8pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
Watch chef performances and have a meet and greet with them with well known names like Jay Geddes who is a private chef and has cooked for many celebrities; Sam Kaeokon, a Masterchef finalist; Sam Smith, BBC’s platinum pudding finalist, Mark Peregrine from Raymond Blanc Cookery School and many more chefs. You’ll learn new cooking skills, how to flavour dishes well and enjoy the show they put on with their talent and art.
Foodies Festival is not complete without the wide range of cuisines you can eat from. Try Ethiopian food, Caribbean street food, Japanese sushi, American burgers, Fish and Chips and so much more. As well as lots of delicious cakes, cookies, doughnuts and sweet stalls to satisfy your tastebuds after you fill up on the savoury.
There are also drink stalls from toasted coconut rum, kombucha, to bespoke themed cocktails and speciality largers. Make sure to arrive hungry and try as much as you can during your time there.
Other activities you can enjoy during the day is watching a cook-off between chefs where they make a dish from mystery ingredients. For just £25 join the international cook school where you’ll level up your skills and learn to make a dish that you can take away, alongside a top chef.
Enter the Cake and Bake theatre where Great British Bake Off winners and other well known bakers will be and ask them questions on tip and tricks in the kitchen.
The festival is family friendly with activities like the kids cookery school where they can learn how to be safe in the kitchen and pick up some new skills to help you out in your next meals. If they aren’t interested in that there is a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts and giant garden games to keep them entertained.
Although it is a festival about food, you will find other stalls that sell fashion, jewellery, beauty products, charities and pet companies to keep you busy in between eating and dancing. Take the kids on a ride on some small rollercoasters that are there
Whilst you’re there why not take part in the kitchen disco – a silent disco that starts in the evening after the live performances for you to carry the party on and dance the night away.
