BSECS 54th Annual Conference
The BSECS 54th Annual Conference (British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies), themed “Bodies and Embodiment”, will take place in Oxford this year.
This interdisciplinary event will explore the physical, social, and cultural dimensions of the body during the long eighteenth century. Scholars from history, literature, art, and philosophy will present research on topics such as medicine, identity, gender, and the body’s role in shaping social norms. The conference will foster rich discussions and new perspectives on how embodiment influenced thought and life in the Enlightenment era.
