Rose Cottage: How A New Length of Stay Strategy Continues to Boost Income & Occupancy!
Rose Cottage is a pretty two bedroom cottage that sleeps up to three guests. It sits on the edge of the Cotswolds, surrounded by beautiful countryside. However, it isn’t within walking distance of a pub or local shops, and it’s not in one of the popular “honeypot” villages where demand is naturally high.

The Challenge
Previously, the property attracted lots of short stays of two to four nights, with gaps in between. The aim was to boost occupancy, revenue, and the average length of stay.
Our Approach
We introduced a minimum length of stay strategy, restricting shorter bookings once availability reached 28 nights ahead. This helped secure longer reservations while still keeping the calendar open for last-minute enquiries.
Thanks to our close links with national relocation agents, we were quickly able to place a booking that perfectly matched a client’s brief – even with a very short lead time. Rose Cottage was an ideal fit and we could confirm the stay immediately.
The Results
That single enquiry led to a substantial booking, significantly lifting occupancy. Within the first six months of the year, revenue for Rose Cottage was almost double the total achieved over the whole of the previous year.
At Short Let Space, we work hard to build strong relationships with relocation specialists, ensuring we can offer homeowners access to high-value bookings like this one.
