Building Relationships: Securing Large Group Bookings
Oxford offers a unique opportunity in the Short Term Rental market. The city has world renowned Universities and colleges, the spin off being large communities of Pharmaceutical companies and other high investment businesses. These tend to fuel investment surrounding science and business parks.
We have successfully been dealing with a high value contract for a couple of years, that is a result of the long term nurturing of relationships within the world renowned university.
The network of contacts that we build within different college departments and local businesses throughout Oxford has ensured that we can have more regular, longer term stays in our homes – which in turn is more profitable for our owners. These contacts are ones that we engage with on multiple levels including proactive and reactive marketing campaigns, to ensure they always have Short Let Space and our homes at the forefront of their accommodation needs.
Group Request Comes Through
We were approached in 2024 to help secure accommodation for a group of 17 delegates attending a study course in Oxford. The course ran from the end of April for 63 nights. Each delegate required a room and private bathroom.
Although in the first year we were unable to secure all rooms due to the late request, we were delighted to work with the organiser in 2025 on an expanded programme with over 30 delegates. Future years will see the programme grow and we have formed a strong partnership with the organisers to ensure that they start the property search as early as possible.
Longer term stays mean there are less turnover costs to owners and also a steady stream of regular income.
