The Role

We are a growing short-let accommodation provider in Oxford, seeking an experienced Booking Team Leader to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers hybrid working with 80% office and 20% home, with a combination of office-based and home-working days.

The role is ideal for someone with a background in short-let accommodation or hospitality who enjoys leading a team, managing bookings across multiple channels, and delivering an excellent guest experience while maximising occupancy and revenue.

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day booking operations across multiple platforms, maximising occupancy and revenue, ensuring accuracy of reservations, and acting as a key link between guests, property owners and internal operational teams. The Booking Team Leader will also support process improvement, performance reporting and team development in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

About you

  • Experience in short-let accommodation, hospitality or reservations
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Experience with SuperControl PMS
  • Familiarity with Airbnb, Booking.com and dynamic pricing tools

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookings & Reservations Management
  • Oversee all bookings across OTAs and direct channels, including Airbnb, Booking.com and corporate bookings
  • Ensure enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally to maximise conversion
  • Manage availability, pricing rules, minimum stays and restrictions in line with company strategy
  • Ensure all reservations are accurately recorded and maintained within the Property Management System (PMS)
  • Monitor cancellations, amendments and voids, taking proactive steps to reduce revenue loss
  • Revenue & Performance Optimisation
  • Support revenue optimisation through effective use of pricing strategies and booking controls
  • Work with management to review occupancy, ADR and booking trends
  • Identify opportunities to increase direct bookings and length-of-stay performance
  • Ensure correct application of discounts, promotions and negotiated rates

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate and support the bookings team on a daily basis
  • Manage onboarding, training and ongoing development of team members
  • Allocate workloads and ensure adequate coverage during busy periods
  • Monitor individual and team performance, providing feedback and support
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex bookings or guest issues

Guest Experience

  • Ensure a consistently high standard of guest communication from enquiry to check-in
  • Handle escalated guest queries, complaints and special requests in a professional and solutions-focused manner
  • Ensure accurate transmission of booking details, arrival information and special requirements
  • Support the wider business in maintaining strong guest reviews and platform ratings

Property Owner Liaison

  • Support communication with property owners regarding bookings, availability and performance
  • Ensure owner requirements and restrictions are accurately reflected in booking systems
  • Assist with performance reporting and insights where required

Systems, Processes & Compliance

  • Ensure best-practice use of the PMS and channel management systems
  • Maintain accurate data across booking platforms
  • Support process improvements within the bookings function
  • Ensure bookings are compliant with internal procedures and platform requirements
  • Assist with reporting and audits as required

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance and property management teams to ensure smooth guest stays
  • Communicate booking changes, special requests and operational requirements clearly and in a timely manner
  • Support operational planning during peak periods

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in short-let accommodation, serviced apartments, hospitality or reservations
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a bookings or reservations team
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident and professional written and verbal communication
  • Experience working with OTAs and booking platforms
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-property environment

Desirable

  • Experience using SuperControl Property Management System
  • Familiarity with dynamic pricing tools (e.g. PriceLabs or similar)
  • Revenue management or sales-driven experience
  • Knowledge of short-let operational and compliance considerations in the UK
