Windrush Cottage

Great and clean house & great service. A wonderful and well-maintained house. Great garden. Very good service from the provider. Very well maintained and very clean.The house is located on a main road in a small town that has a supermarket, pub with restaurant, fish and chips shop, and café. Excellent bus and train connections (approx. 1 hour to London). Parking space available for one standard-sized car.However, the great location also means a certain amount of noise from passing cars and the bus stop. But as I said… great connections.We would rent this house again anytime.

The garden is beautiful especially on the night time, with the garden lights. The kitchen is lovely and well equipped. Red kites visit the garden and they are magnificent to watch! The conservatory is lovely. Rooms are a nice size and pleasantly welcoming. There’s a family bathroom upstairs and a downstairs toilet in the utility room. The drive is narrow so please check ahead to ensure your car will fit, as there are wardens too. It’s a good location and there’s shops and places to eat and drink close by. The Plough pub is nice, and Killingworth Castle pub is too. Blenheim palace is beautiful. The Farmers dog is great, however, it’s really busy. This is 20 minutes away from the cottage, as is Diddly Squat Farm shop. Crocodiles of the world is a nice family day out. An Uber to Woodstock cost £7 which is good. I’d definitely return and would recommend it too.

We loved staying near the train station and the incredible garden in the back! It is so beautiful. We loved that it had a washer and a dryer.

Windrush Cottage is a lovely cottage with a beautiful garden. Cosy & comfortable. The only downside for me were the steep stairs, & being old it was a bit dusty nothing major. The garden was secure so very safe for or Scottie dogs.

A fabulous, large, end terrance cottage with good sized bedrooms and plenty of spaces for a small family or lots of visitors. Modern facilities , absolutely beautiful garden great for kids or just relaxing in at the end of the day (loved the night lights), exceptionally clean and tidy, gorgeous towels and bathroom goodies left for visitors, good location as close to walks and towns/villages. A truly wonderful home from homes. We loved our stay.

Excellent spot! Great house, right next to train station! Highly recommend.

We spent close to three and a half months at Windrush Cottage from October 2024 to mid January 2025 as part of a sabbatical leave. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and extremely well located. The train station at the bottom of the garden was particularly appealing allowing for easy access to Oxford. The views of the Blenheim Estate to the front of the house are beautiful. If you enjoy running then the community paths on the estate are excellent allowing for good runs in the park. Short Term Lets were very attentive to any problems and managed to resolve them speedily with the help of an excellent handyman. For a short-term let we can highly recommend Windrush Cottage.
