Kingfisher Barn offers self-catering accommodation in converted 17th-century farm buildings and welcomes both holidaymakers and business travellers.

The main barn has two four-bedroom lodges and The Nest, a one-bedroom apartment. Our self-catering cottages, converted from old granary, stores and stables, sleep two, three or four guests - all retaining the original farm building's character while providing a relaxing space.

The location is an ideal base for exploring Abingdon and Oxfordshire, offering historical sights, beautiful countryside, local businesses, eateries and shopping. All the accommodation is prepared to a high standard, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay and providing free fast Wi-Fi and guest information packs. Dogs are welcome on a lead while on the grounds.

Description

Hazel Cottage is an accessible retreat with all main living areas, a family bathroom and two bedrooms on the ground floor. This layout suits families with young children, elderly relatives or those needing accessibility. The new family bathroom has a wet room shower, raised WC and vanity sink.

The main bedroom offers flexible twin or double bed arrangements with ample storage. Its oak furniture reflects the Oxfordshire countryside. The second single bedroom has a modern country cottage feel with a large window and bright artwork for a relaxing atmosphere.

The open-plan kitchen and living room offer a sociable space for cooking, dining and relaxing with a smart TV. Outside, there's a patio and a lawn area which it shares with two neighbouring cottages.

The kitchen is well-equipped with washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster
The living-dining area comfortably seats four, providing plenty of room for everyone to enjoy meals together and comfy sofa and easy chair
Bedroom one can be double or twin
Family bathroom with walk-in wet room shower
Bedroom two has a single bed
All cottages have smart TVs so you can access your own Netflix and other streaming accounts
There’s a communal lawn to enjoy on sunny days, with a separate patio area for each individual cottage
Complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
Pets are more than welcome, but we do ask for them to be kept on leads in communal areas. We’ll provide a bed and bowl for your four-legged friend to make sure they have a great stay too!
There is a safe private car park which is free for all our guests to use.

The Neighbourhood

Abingdon-on-Thames, the oldest continuously inhabited town in Britain, offers a charming experience. While originally part of Berkshire, it joined Oxfordshire in 1974. The town features Abbey buildings from the 7th Century and many other historic structures.

Two main roads into Abingdon cross the River Thames and River Ock via ancient monument bridges, including a 550-year-old bridge over the Thames. The River Thames is central to the town's recreational activities, with riverside gardens, pubs, restaurants, fishing and leisure cruising through the lock.
