Visit Bourton-on-the-Water in 2022

Bourton-on-the-Water is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the northern Cotswolds. Famed for its honey-coloured houses and idyllic village scenery, you’ll be surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, but there’s also plenty to get up to nearby.

The Model Village

This miniature village, located behind the Old New Inn, will appeal to everyone. The miniature replica village is one-ninth of the original size and includes all of the local structures as they were in the 1930s.

The Dragonfly Maze

Take the whole family to Rissington Road’s fascinating and perplexing hedge labyrinth.

Unlike other mazes you’ve visited, this one isn’t your typical hedge labyrinth. There are plenty of puzzles and games to solve, so it’ll keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Birdland Park and Gardens

This fantastic wildlife park is one of Bourton-on-the-Water’s most popular attractions, and it’s a great way to spend some time outdoors.

The park, which houses one of the UK’s greatest exotic bird collections, is home to birds of all colours, shapes, types, and sizes.

Don’t miss Penguin Shore’s gorgeous penguin families, and don’t forget to take the kids to the Jurassic Journey.

Cotswold Brewing Company

Visit College Farm Brewery for a tour and tasting session.

According to the brewery’s staff, the whole area smells like ‘sugar-dusted Shreddies’, and there are plenty of different beers to drink while you’re there.

They offer their own cider, vodka, and gin for non-beer drinkers, so there’s something for everyone.

Bloody Bourton Walking Tour

If you’re fascinated by ghosts and ghouls or simply want to learn more about the area’s dark history, here is the place.

This walking tour takes about an hour and includes stories about the paranormal, witchcraft, hidden spots, religious persecution, and even murder.

Cotswold Motoring Museum

A collection of unique automobiles and antique automotive memorabilia can be seen at the Cotswold Motoring Museum. This is a terrific way to spend an hour or two for ‘petrol heads’ or anyone who enjoys cars. The displays have a nostalgic feel to them, with toys, games, and models that transport you back to your childhood.
