About the Neighbourhood
The cottage and adjoining house are situated in a peaceful setting beyond the village There are attractive walks from the house along an ancient track to the next village, Yarnton or beyond to Cassington and Bladon - and the Royal Sun pub in Begbroke is a 10-15 minute walk away, as is the direct route bus to Oxford or nearby Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
The owners of the property, Giles and Nikki, live with their two dogs in the main house and are generally on hand to welcome guests and answer any queries or questions about the old house, the area and its history and Oxford's university and city. The legend in the village is that King Charles I stayed the night in Spring Hill House on his way to Long Hanborough after being driven out of Oxford by Oliver Cromwell in 1644.
