The University Church
Offering panoramic views of the Oxford skyline, The University Church – or, to use its full name, ‘The University Church of Saint Mary the Virgin’ – is located just opposite the Bodleian Library, in front of the Radcliffe Camera. Visitors can climb to the very top of the church’s tower via a spiralling medieval staircase, explore the church interior, or visit the ‘Vaults and Garden Café’, which serves breakfasts, lunches, and snacks beneath a spectacular vaulted ceiling. As well as religious services, the church plays host to a variety of musical events, for which tickets can be booked online.
