The Trout Inn at Wolvercote
Positioned on the banks of the River Thames in Lower Wolvercote, North of Oxford, The Trout Inn is a great place to enjoy lovely views of the Thames. The Trout Inn is a premium pub, bar, and restaurant with its very own garden, centrally located in the heart of the picturesque town of Wolvercote.
With its stylish interiors, distinctive features, and links to literacy and historic greats such as Lewis Carroll, Colin Dexter’s Inspector Morse, Rosamund the Fair, and King Henry II, this pub will open your eyes to a world of fascinating history and culture.
If you are coming from Oxford and don’t mind a walk of around 10km, the best way to get the to the Trout is to walk along the River Thames. Or, you could get a bus to Wolvercote and walk back along the River. The walk is one of our favourite activities as it looks out across Port Meadow with a fine view of the spires of Oxford
If you want to eat inside the restaurant and not on the terrace then we advise booking.
