The River Thames
Winding through the heart of Oxford, the River Thames offers a chance to navigate the city away from traffic and surrounded by nature. Being both a relatively flat route, and having good-quality paths, it’s an excellent place for cycling with scenic views, with routes extending to the north to Wolvercote, and to the south to Kennington – along the National Cycle Network Route 5. As well as hosting a number of riverside pubs (including The Isis Farmhouse, The Head of the River, and The Punter) there are also easily accessible nature reserves to explore at Grandpont and Longbridges.
