Oxford Walks

Just like the Cotswolds, Oxford has plenty of green space and areas that are waiting to be explored. Oxford walks take you along the Oxford Canal, across the rolling Chiltern hills, through its historic town centre, through the Warburg Nature Reserve, and so much more. Whatever your fitness level there are plenty of Oxford Walks for you to enjoy.

Self-guided Oxford Walks are one of the best ways to explore. There are also loads of apps out there to help you with your walking route. One of our favourite walks takes you through the city where you’ll be able to discover all the museums, colleges, and historic buildings throughout the city. Pop into the Oxford Visitors Information Centre on Broad Street and pick up some leaflets for more walks.

If you’d prefer to walk with others, there are plenty of guided tours that take you around Oxford. We also recommended exploring the Oxfordshire Way. The Oxfordshire Way winds its way through Oxfordshire from Bourton-on-the-Water to the banks of the River Thames in Henley. It passes through a mosaic of contrasting landscapes, settlements, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and gorgeous Oxfordshire countryside.

A stay in Oxfordshire would not be complete without exploring Oxford on foot.
