Matara Centre
The Matara Centre is set in 28 acres and, for the last 25 years, Geoffrey, your host, has dedicated much of his time to the Gardens and Parklands.
Setting aside half of the land to rewilding, there is now natural water, woodland and parkland habitats where deciduous plants and wildlife are thriving. He has also created magical, travel-inspired gardens throughout the property creating a fusion of East and West, inspired by Japanese Shinto, tea gardens and Chinese scholar gardens.
The pace of modern life can be overwhelming. Matara is an island of tranquillity that reflects the deeper, but sometimes overlooked, values of life – this place offers you a chance to slow down and breathe, to feel and appreciate the fundamental joys of life.
