Deddington Castle
Located just a five-minute walk from the Market Place, Deddington Castle offers the chance to take in medieval history. The site houses the remains of the castle mound earthworks thought to be built shortly after the Norman conquest of 1066. The site is managed by English Heritage, and entry is free. For the archaeologically-minded, a visit to the castle earthworks could be combined with a visit to the nearby “Rollright Stones” (20 minutes away by car), which are thought to span two thousand years of development in the Bronze and Neolithic ages.
