Christ Church Meadow

Just a five-minute walk from the High Street, Christ Church Meadow is perhaps one of the most central green spaces in Oxford. Sitting between the River Thames and River Cherwell (and just behind the University’s Botanic Garden), Christ Church Meadow offers a gentle, relatively flat walk, alongside the riverbanks. From its well-maintained paths, it’s possible to see rowers on the river, cattle grazing the meadow, and stunning views of Christ Church and Merton Colleges. With plenty of benches facing both the colleges and the river, Christ Church Meadow can be a great space to enjoy a picnic, food from one of the nearby stalls at the Covered Market, or an ice-cream from the Oxford institution George & Danver.
